Saturday Eupora Flea Market

Charles and I always ride through the Eupora Flea Market early each Saturday morning on our way to Kangaroo for coffee. This morning it finally happened! Look what I found! The picture does not show the color...but it is a 9 inch lime pie plate. Matches the rectangle dish from last week. I AM SO EXCITED! Oh and did I mention it was $4.00. Being new to this, I didn't even haggle. The next one I find...I will offer less!

The next project is to create a cabinet that will house my collection! I am on my way!

It is official!

I am now officially a vintage pyrex collector. After the disappointment of not getting the turquoise piece, I called around to those I knew who are avid auction goers and resale their finds. One of those calls was to Ms. Norvelle Weeks. She had several pieces and I am now the proud owner of two pieces of the primary set bowls and a lime green rectangle dish.

Thank you Ms Weeks! It means a lot that you were the one that helped me get started. But I am still looking for that great find!

Pyrex Pondering

It has been recent that I have been bitten by the PINTERST Bug. Several "interests" have grabbed me! This blog will be used to document some of the interests and how I infuse them in my life!

One of the interest is hunting for Pyrex! Maybe it is my recent crossing in to SIXTYDOM, but items that were of "no" account in my younger years seem to be gaining attention. I have been investigating the collection of Pyrex.

There are several sites that I have been reading to get the lowdown on Pyrex and its uses. Pyrex Love is a great place to start. I have visited a couple of antique and thrift stores only to find one or two pieces. And...the prices aren't what I want to invest at this time. So far the HUNT has been the joy!

Yesterday, an auction was going on in my small town. I stopped by to see what it was about only to find a piece of Pyrex. Because I couldn't stay for the auction, I asked a friend to bid on it for me but to stop at $10.00. Here is what the piece looked like. Turquoise with snowflakes.

Checking in with her last night I discovered that the piece sold for $25.00! So, I find myself still Pyrex-less. I looked on eBay and a similar piece was marked at $20.00. My goal is find it for less...I'll keep you posted on What I found!
